On Monday, the Minnesota Wild placed forward Devin Shore on waivers. If he were to clear on Tuesday, he is eligible to be assigned to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Iowa Wild.

Shore was initially put on waivers before the beginning of the 2024-25 season, starting the year in Iowa. He was eventually called up in mid-November, making his debut with the Wild on Nov. 21. The 30-year-old has since played 12 of the last 13 games with Minnesota, including Sunday’s 3-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, playing a season-low 5:06.

Shore has not registered a point with the Wild, posting a plus/minus of +1 while averaging 8:10 of ice time per game.

Prior to being recalled to the NHL, Shore had scored two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 14 games with Iowa, though he had a -11 rating.

The Ajax, Ontario native came to the Twin Cities after spending the 2023-24 campaign with the Seattle Kraken organization, helping their primary affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, advance to the Calder Cup Final. Shore signed a one-year, two-way contract back in July with an NHL cap hit of $775,000 and a minor-league salary of $400,000.

Shore has bounced up and down between the NHL and AHL for the past few seasons, including a three-year stint with the Edmonton Oilers.

In 455 NHL games, Shore has scored 51 goals and 88 assists for 139 points, including one point in four Stanley Cup Playoff games. In 100 AHL appearances, Shore has notched 30 goals and 42 assists for 72 points, with another 14 coming in 21 postseason games.

The Wild (20-7-4) are second in the Central Division, one point behind the Winnipeg Jets for the best record in the NHL. Minnesota is scheduled to host the Florida Panthers on Wednesday.
