Jets’ Adam Lowry out 5-6 months after hip surgery

On Wednesday, the Winnipeg Jets announced that captain Adam Lowry underwent a successful hip surgery on Tuesday.
Per the team’s post on social media, Lowry is expected to make a full recovery after a 5-6 month rehabilitation period, meaning he most likely won’t be ready to go by the start of the 2025-26 regular season.

— Winnipeg Jets (@NHLJets) May 28, 2025It wasn’t public that anything had been ailing the 32-year-old during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He played in all 13 of the Jets’ games this postseason, scoring four goals, including the double-overtime winner in Game 7 of the first round against the St. Louis Blues.
Lowry registered a plus/minus of +2 while averaging 17:27 of ice time in the playoffs. Winnipeg made it as far as the second round, losing to the Dallas Stars in a six-game Central Division Final.
Lowry was unquestionably one of the biggest voices on a Jets team that had its best season in franchise history. Winnipeg pretty much went wire-to-wire as the best team in the NHL, winning the President’s Trophy for the first time. While it’s too soon to tell if the Jets will be able to replicate their success next season, not having their on-ice leader heading into training camp might dampen the mood.
The St. Louis native scored 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points in 73 games, down from the past two campaigns where Lowry scored at least 35. However, he did miss over a month due to an upper-body injury suffered just before the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
Lowry has spent his entire 11-year NHL career with the Jets, helping the team make it to the postseason in all but three seasons during his tenure. The former Swift Current Bronco has appeared in 775 games, scoring 121 goals and 152 assists for 273 points, in addition to notching 24 points in 62 playoff games.
