Jets’ Adam Lowry out week-to-week with upper-body injury
Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Ariel announced Wednesday that captain Adam Lowry will be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Lowry was injured during Monday night’s loss versus Utah Hockey Club when he crashed into the boards during the first period of play and did not return. Arniel stated that the injury is not concussion related.

— Daily Faceoff – Fantasy (@DFOFantasy) January 22, 2025The 31-year-old has 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points, a plus-17 rating, and 88 hits in 48 games.
Lowry was named captain prior to the 2023-24 campaign after coming off the most productive season of his career, notching 13 goals, 23 assists, and 36 points in 82 games in the 2022-23 season which beat his previous career-high of 29 points, which he achieved in 2016-17.
The former Swift Current Broncos foward became the third captain in franchise history since the team has relocated to Winnipeg, with Andrew Ladd carrying it over from the team’s Atlanta Thrashers days until he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2016. Blake Wheeler would end up getting the honor until he was stripped of the captaincy in 2022. Lowry became the 10th captain in the overall history of the franchise, with the Thrashers having eight different captains before Ladd in their 12-year history.
Winnipeg currently sits at the top seed in the Central Division with a 31-14-3 record and will look to snap a two-game losing skid against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.
Jets’ forward Rasmus Kupari was taking line rushes at practice and seems to be the replacement for Lowry on a line with Nino Niederreiter and Cole Perfetti. Kupari has tallied five points in 44 games this season with Winnipeg. Kupari came over from the Los Angeles Kings in the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade.
