A 4-0 home ice win Thursday kept the Winnipeg Jets‘ Stanley Cup hopes live. With the victory, the Jets pulled within one of the Dallas Stars and set up Game 6 coming Saturday in Texas.

On Friday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk and Frank Seravalli recapped the Jets’ performance on Thursday, highlighting the play of goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.

Tyler Yaremchuk: The Jets stay alive. They are flying back to Dallas for a sixth game. Last night, it was a 22-save shutout for Hellebuyck, and two powerplay goals for the Jets as well. Those areas we talked about, they were cleaned up. The Jets came through. On the other hand, they still need to prove that they can do this stuff on the road.

Frank Seravalli: That’s the problem. But for now, it’s a secondary problem because they weren’t guaranteed another road game at that. It was all of the things that we touched on yesterday. The powerplay was clicking at six percent so far. That needed to be way better. This shutout, much in the same way of Stuart Skinner coming back into that series for the Edmonton Oilers, had to feel really good for Hellebuyck. He’s had a ton of pressure. He’s a guy who has looked pretty good at home. He’s been Jekyll and Hyde where he has really struggled on the road. And it’s not even his first shutout at home in this series. The key question is if they can take this show on the road. It’s kind of an unbelievable disparity. The Jets have played Stanley Cup-caliber hockey on home ice, and then they go away, whether it’s St. Louis or Dallas, and they really struggle. Maybe the key for them will just be not leaving the country.
