Jets’ Mark Scheifele remains sidelined for Game 7 versus Blues

The Winnipeg Jets will once again be without center Mark Scheifele as the club looks to close out its opening-round series against the St. Louis Blues in Game 7 on Sunday.
Per Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli, Jets head coach Scott Arniel confirmed that Scheifele remains sidelined with an undisclosed ailment that also kept him out of Game 6, a contest in which the Jets ultimately fell 5-2.
On the season, Scheifele finished second in Jets’ scoring with 87 points counting 39 goals and 48 assists coming in 82 games. Through five appearances in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Scheifele has added another two goals and four assists for six points.
Originally chosen seventh overall by Winnipeg in the 2011 NHL Draft, the 32-year-old native of Kitchener, Ont., has since spent part of 14 seasons and 879 career contests with the Jets in which he has amassed 336 goals and 468 assists for 804 points, putting him just nine points short of Blake Wheeler for top spot in franchise scoring. Scheifele has also added 23 goals and 21 assists for 44 points in 47 postseason appearances.
While the Jets remain without Scheifele in Game 7, the bigger concern may come between the pipes where Vezina Trophy finalist Connor Hellebuyck has struggled early in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
While Hellebuyck has picked up three wins through six showings, the two-time Vezina Trophy recipient has posted an .815 save percentage and 4.42 goals-against average, following a dominant regular-season performance in which he won 47 of 63 games while registering a .925 save percentage, 2.00 goals-against average, and eight shutouts. Of note, through 45 postseason appearances, Hellebuyck has tallied 18 wins coupled with a .910 save percentage, 2.85 goals-against average, and three shutouts.
The winner of Sunday’s Game 7 between the Jets and Blues will take on the Dallas Stars in the second round. On Saturday, the Stars eliminated the Colorado Avalanche in a seven-game set.
