Winnipeg Jets’ Nik Ehlers out remainder of regular season
The Winnipeg Jets will be without Nik Ehlers for the remainder of the regular season, head coach Paul Maurice confirmed Monday.
Ehlers, 25, was hit hard by Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake Muzzin Saturday night. The forward is in the midst of his most productive offensive season scoring 46 points in 47 games.
The hit, which looked fairly innocuous, saw the pair collide behind the Leafs net with Muzzin getting the worst of it on first glance. Ehlers, meanwhile, appeared to be favoring his right shoulder as he immediately went down the tunnel.

No word on what the injury is, but it’s clearly serious enough for the club to shut him down for the remaining nine games of the regular season.
