Jets’ Nikolaj Ehlers week-to-week with undisclosed injury

The Winnipeg Jets will enter the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs without left winger Nikolaj Ehlers who is considered week-to-week due to an undisclosed injury, Jets head coach Scott Arniel confirmed Tuesday per team broadcaster Mitchell Clinton.
Facing the Central Division rival Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, Ehlers exited midway through the second period and did not return following an awkward collision with a linesman. In all, it marked just the second game back for Ehlers following a two-game absence related to a foot injury.
On the season, the 29-year-old Danish-born forward has made 69 appearances with the Jets in which he has collected 24 goals and 39 assists to sit third in team scoring 63 points. Originally chosen ninth overall by Winnipeg in the 2014 NHL Draft, Ehlers has since skated in 10 seasons and 674 career contests with the Jets in which he has tallied 225 goals and 295 assists for 520 career points. Ehlers has also added four goals and 10 assists for 14 points through 37 appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
For the Jets, who on Sunday claimed their first-ever Presidents’ Trophy in recognition of the NHL’s best regular-season record, the club has one game remaining prior to the postseason, coming Wednesday against the Anaheim Ducks. However, it is not yet determined who the Jets will face in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with all of the Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, and Calgary Flames remaining as potential matchups.
Since returning to the Manitoba capital in 2011, the Jets have qualified for the postseason on seven occasions, underscored by a trip to the Western Conference Final in 2018 before falling to the Vegas Golden Knights in five games. The 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs marks the third-straight year in which the Jets will compete in the postseason.
