Winnipeg Jets sign goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis to entry-level contract
The Winnipeg Jets announced they have agreed to terms with goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis on a three-year, entry-level contract. According to CapFriendly, the contract will have an average annual value (AAV) of $858,333.

DiVincentiis spent the 2022-23 season with the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he posted a 36-9-2 record, a league-leading five shutouts, a 2.33 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage. He continued his fiery play into the OHL Playoffs with the Battalion, posting an 11-6-3 record, 2.41 goals against average, and a .926 save percentage. North Bay lost in game seven of the OHL Eastern Conference Championship to the Peterborough Petes. He captured the OHL Goaltender of the Year Award and OHL First All-Star Team honours. He was also named to CHL’s Second All-Star Team and was a CHL Goaltender of the Year finalist.
DiVincentiis was initially selected No. 207 overall in the 2022 NHL Draft by the Jets. The Bolton, Ontario, product was in his OHL rookie campaign during his 2022 draft-year; he posted a 14-8-1 record in 27 appearances to go with a 2.59 goals against average and .907 save percentage while backstopping Montreal Canadiens prospect Joe Vrbetic. He was named to the OHL’s First All-Rookie Team and won the Dinty Moore Trophy as the OHL Best Rookie Goals-Against.
“To share this recognition with some of the best goaltenders in our league’s history is extremely exciting,” DiVincentiis said in a league-issued release. “This award, in my opinion, is a recognition and acknowledgment to the incredible support and encouragement I have received from my teammates, coaches, support staff, and fans with the North Bay Battalion.”
The 19-year-old will return to North Bay for another OHL season; the Battalion will play its 2023-24 home opener at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept.29, against the Barrie Colts.
