Jets sign Vladislav Namestnikov to two-year contract extension

The Winnipeg Jets announced Saturday that the club has signed center Vladislav Namestnikov to a two-year extension that carries a $3-million annual average value.
Through 52 appearances with the Jets this season, the 32-year-old Russian-born forward has scored 10 times and added 19 assists to rank eighth in team scoring with 29 points. Skating in his third season with the Jets, Namestnikov wrapped up the 2023-24 campaign with 37 points counting 11 goals and 26 assists coming in 78 contests.
Originally chosen 27th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2011 NHL Draft, Namestnikov has seen 760 career contests counting stops with the Lightning, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings, Dallas Stars, and Jets in which he has tallied 136 goals and 191 assists for 327 points. With the Lightning in 2017-18, Namestnikov reached a career-high 44 points counting 20 goals and 24 assists coming in 62 games. Namestnikov has also added seven goals and seven assists for 14 points through 57 appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Beyond his 12 seasons in the NHL, Namestnikov has also seen success internationally, underscored by a bronze medal victory with Russia at the 2017 IIHF World Championship where through 10 outings he registered three goals and three assists for six points. An Ontario Hockey League graduate, Namestnikov’s time in the junior circuit was highlighted by a J. Ross Robertson Cup victory with the London Knights in 2012 where he put up four goals and 14 assists for 18 points in 19 postseason appearances en route to the championship.
With the 4 Nations Face-Off concluded, the Jets return to the ice Saturday against the Central Division rival St. Louis Blues. The Jets enter the contest in the midst of an eight-game win streak that has pushed the club to the top of the NHL standings with a 39-14-3 record and 81 points.
