On Sunday, the Jets earned the award after the Washington Capitals lost 4-1 to the Columbus Blue Jackets, meaning the Capitals won’t catch Winnipeg in the league point standings.

The Jets played Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers, losing 4-1. Alex Iafallo scored on the power play, assisted by Mark Scheifele and Colin Miller.

Winnipeg now holds a record of 55-22-4 and 114 points, and will have home-ice advantage in every series they play in this spring. The team has set a new high-mark in franchise history for the most wins in a season, currently with 55. The Jets last recorded 114 points in 2017-18, which was also the last time they reached the Western Conference Finals.

Forward Kyle Connor leads the team in all offensive categories with 41 goals, 55 assists and 96 points. Mark Scheifele isn’t far behind, with 38 goals and 48 assists for 86 points. Josh Morrissey leads all defenders in scoring with 14 goals and 47 assists for 61 points.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is having another all-time season, posting a 46-12-3 with a .924 save percentage and 2.02 goals against average (GAA). He is the favorite to win the Vezina Trophy and could end up being a finalist for the Hart Trophy.
