Rowney played four straight games after returning from injury on February 23rd but suffered an undisclosed injury in Tampa last Thursday. Joe Veleno was recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL) to take Rowney's spot on the roster.
Carter Rowney News
Rowney has missed the last five games and was recently moved to IR. He's eligible to return to the lineup whenever he is healthy but he's not expected to be back for Monday's afternoon game in Buffalo.
The Red Wings added three more players and two coaches to the COVID-19 protocol list on Saturday, with Rowney joining Givani Smith and Alex Nedeljkovic.
Rowney suffered a lower-body injury in Monday's loss in Arizona, was not on the ice for Tuesday's practice and was placed on IR on Wednesday. With Rowney out, either David Backes or Danton Heinen will be back in the lineup on Wednesday.
Rowney has been out since October 13th but is expected to draw back onto the Ducks fourth line on Tuesday. Rowney has just one goal in five games this season.
Rowney was considered a game-time decision after missing Monday’s practice, but he will play vs. the Senators. Rowney is not fantasy relevant, having picked up just four points (2G / 2A) in 32 games the season.
Rowney left Tuesday’s game vs. the Golden Knights and did not return and it looks like he’ll miss Friday’s game in Dallas. Rowney only appeared in three games since returning to the lineup from an upper-body injury and it looks like he’ll end up back on the shelf.
Rowney recently returned to the Penguins’ lineup but left Tuesday’s game after playing just 3:01 TOI and did not return. The Penguins did not have an update on Rowney during his postgame interview, so consider him questionable for Friday’s game in Dallas.
Rowney was officially listed as a game-time decision this morning but activating him from IR opens up the door for him to return tonight. Jean-Sebastian Dea was sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) to open up a roster spot for him.
Rowney has been out since January 2nd but could be back in tonight vs. the Capitals. Rowney has been an effective piece in the Penguins bottom-6 but doesn’t have any fantasy relevance having picked up just four points (2G / 2A) in 27 games this season.
Rowney played just 4:00 TOI in the Penguins win in Philadelphia on Tuesday and will be out “longer term” with an upper-body injury. With Rowney out, Dominik Simon will draw back into the Penguins lineup.
Rowney left Saturday’s game in Tampa Bay and was diagnosed with a broken hand on Tuesday. The Penguins bottom-6 forward will miss at least four weeks, so look for Greg McKegg and Tom Kuhnhackl to remain in the lineup following the addition of Riley Sheahan.
Rowney, 27, has registered 10 goals and 11 assists (21 points) in 24 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. Rowney could make his NHL debut tonight if Patric Hornqvist (lower-body) can’t play.
