Adam Gaudette News
This seems like odd timing to trade Gaudette if you're the Canucks. Gaudette had a solid 2020 campaign, posting 33 points (12G / 21A) in 59 games but they've sold low on him, with him picking up just seven points (4G / 3A) in 33 games. Gaudette has some offensive upside but has been tough to trust in his own end. For the Blackhawks, it's a very low-risk investment.
Gaudette was on the ice for the start of Tuesday's practice but was pulled immediately once the results of his test came back positive. Gaudette will undergo further testing to determine if it was a false positive but this doesn't bode well for him playing on Wednesday.
Gaudette suited up for the last five games but will be replaced by Loui Eriksson in the lineup on Saturday night. Gaudette scored in the Canucks season opener but has just one goal and no assists in 10 games since.
Gaudette will sit as a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game, which means Zack MacEwen will remain in the lineup in the first of two games against the Senators. Gaudette was held scoreless with a minus-5 rating in his last five games.
Gaudette has played in the last four games since being called up and has picked up three points (1G / 2A) during that time. However, Sven Baertschi will replace Gaudette in the lineup in Winnipeg.
Gaudette will dress in an NHL game for the first time since October 12th but with Micheal Ferland out with a concussion, Gaudette will suit up in Anaheim. Gaudette has one assist in three games this season.
Gaudette has been a healthy scratch for the last five games so the Canucks are returning him to Utica to get some playing time. The last time the 23-year-old was in the AHL, he had 11 points (5G / 6A) in 14 games in 2018-19.
Gaudette has appeared in the last three games, playing 11:30 ATOI with one assist, but is expected to be replaced by Tyler Motte on the fourth line on Tuesday.
With Brandon Sutter out with a lower-body injury, Gaudette earns another call-up in 2018-19. The 22-year-old has scored three goals with four assists (seven points) in 32 games with the Canucks this season. During his time in the AHL, Gaudette has 11 points (5G / 6A) in 14 games.
Gaudette was a healthy scratch on Saturday, but was on the second power-play unit in Sunday’s practice. That kind of participation suggests that Gaudette will be back in the lineup vs. the Wild. Gaudette will likely play in the bottom-6 now that Elias Pettersson is back in and re-enters the lineup with just one assist in six games.
