Hill gave up three goals on 34 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Penguins on Sunday. Since being thrust into duty, Hill has gone 1-1-1 with a 2.94 GAA and .908 SV% in three starts and two relief appearances. On Tuesday he will face a Sharks team that is 4-1-1 while scoring 2.83 goals per game in their first six games of the calendar year.
Hill stopped 37 of 39 shots in the Coyotes win in Florida on Tuesday. Hill's first start of the season couldn't have gone better but he'll be in tough in Tampa Bay on Thursday. He has stopped 47 of 51 shots (.922 SV%) in his two appearances this season and will face a Lightning team that has won eight in a row while averaging 4.75 goals per game.
Hill gave up two goals on 12 shots in relief of Antti Raanta in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Flyers. With both Raanta and Darcy Kuemper dealing with injuries, Hill becomes the Coyotes' temporary No.1 netminder and comes in at 8-8-0 with a 2.89 GAA and .901 SV% in 19 career NHL appearances. He was 9-3-0 with a 2.77 GAA and .907 SV% in 12 AHL games at the time that he was called-up.
With Antti Raanta sick, Hill will come up and serve as Darcy Kuemper’s backup in San Jose.
Hill spent most of the 2019 in the AHL, but also went 7-5-0 with a 2.76 GAA, .901 SV% and one shutout in 13 NHL contests. The former third-round pick was 16-19-2 with a 2.61 GAA and .906 SV% in 36 games in Tucson (AHL). With Antti Raanta and Darcy Kuemper firmly ahead of him on the depth chart, Hill will open the 2020 season with the Roadrunners.
Darcy Kuemper was forced to leave Tuesday’s game after taking a stick in the face vs. the Kings, so Hill comes back up in case Kuemper isn’t available for Thursday’s game. Hill has gone 15-12-2 with a 2.46 GAA and .911 SV% in 32 AHL games this season.
Hill was brought up to serve as Calvin Pickard’s backup on Tuesday but his return to the AHL suggests that Darcy Kemper will be back on Thursday vs. the Blue Jackets.
Darcy Kuemper suffered and upper-body injury in Dallas last night, so Hill comes up to serve as Calvin Pickard’s backup on Tuesday. Hill could remain with the team and get some playing time if Kuemper misses some time.
Hill allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Panthers loss to the Oilers on January 2nd. Darcy Kuemper has been starting the majority of the Coyotes games but Hill will make his 11th start tonight in Calgary. The 22-year-old has gone 5-1-0 with a 2.03 GAA, .930 SV% and one shutout on the road this season.
Hill gave up four goals on 41 shots in the Coyotes win in Anaheim last Saturday. Hill had a ridiculous stretch of games to start his NHL career but his game has fallen off as of late. Hill has allowed at least three goals in six straight games, giving up a total of 21 goals on 186 shots (.887 SV%). He just isn’t experienced enough to trust from a fantasy perspective, especially against Connor McDavid.
Hill allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Coyotes loss in Carolina last Sunday. Hill had a fantastic run as the Coyotes’ starter but has fallen back to earth in his last four starts. Hill has given up a combined 13 goals on 117 shots (.889 SV%). Tonight he faces an Avalanche team that has lost seven of their last 11 (4-5-2) and come in on the tail-end of a back-to-back.
Hill was sent down on Wednesday in a “paper move” prior to the NHL’s roster freeze. There’s no word whether or not Hill will start on Thursday.
The Coyotes were carrying three goalies but sent Hill to the AHL before the roster freeze so that he can play before the Christmas break. Hill was excellent during his call-up, going 5-3-0 with a 1.97 GAA and .926 SV% in nine games. He returns to the AHL where he is 4-1-0 with a 3.22 GAA and .871 SV%.

With Darcy Kuemper starting last, Hill will start for the first time in just under a week. He has a solid matchup in New York but is a risky option because of the team in front of him.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Hill, who has a 1.09 GAA, .957 SV% and one shutout in six appearances this season. Tonight he takes on a Sharks team that is 5-8-3 on the road and one the tail-end of a back-to-back.
