Alex Stalock News
Stalock allowed two goals on just 13 shots in an OT win over the Flames on Tuesday. With Antti Niemi playing on Thursday and skating this morning there is a good chance it will be Stalock tonight vs. the Oilers. Edmonton has not scored a goal in there last three home games, so Stalock should make for a great spot start.

Stalock did not allow a goal in a relief effort on Thursday. Tonight will be his second start this season - in his first he allowed only two goals on 40 shots in a win over the Senators. Antti Niemi has started 16 of a possible 17 games and has allowed 18 goals in five straight losses so the Sharks will turn to Stalock vs. Calgary to give Niemi a breather. He should make for a solid spot start.

Stalock had two appearances for the Sharks last season. He had a 0-0-1 with a 2.86 GAA and .846 SV%. Behind a red-hot Sharks team, Stalock is worth a last-ditch Sunday effort if you need goalie numbers.
Stalock returns to the AHL where he is 15-12-3 with a 2.48 GAA and .917 SV% this season.
Great news for Stalock, who many felt may not play again due to nerve damage. Even though the Sharks have three NHL-ready goalies, Stalock may be in the mix for a job in the next year or two if back at full strength.
Stalock could have been used last season but is likely a fourth-stringer now with Thomas Greiss back in the mix. He's won 58 starts in the AHL over the last two seasons and could turn into a serviceable backup.
Stalock earned a shot with the team last season while Antero Niittymaki was sidelined but likely falls down the depth chart with Thomas Greiss returning to North America.
