Mark Borowiecki and his wife are expecting a baby soon so he is unlikely to travel to Winnipeg for Saturday's game, hence the recalling of Englund. The 6-foot-4, 205 lbs. defenseman has two assists in 12 games with the Senators this season.

Englund has no points in 11 AHL games this season and no points in nine career NHL games. He comes up to serve as the Senators No. 7 defenseman while Dylan DeMelo is sidelined with a broken finger.

Englund, 23, was a second-round pick in 2014 and has played sparingly in the NHL since, including three games this season. During his time in the AHL, the 6-foot-3, 189 lbs. defenseman scored three goals with 11 assists (14 points) in 68 games.

Englund will get a late-season look with the Senators after scoring three goals and 11 assists (14 points) in 65 AHL games this season. The 2014 second-round pick has great size (6-foot-4, 205 lbs.) and has not recorded a pick in six career NHL games.

Englund has picked up just four assists in 29 games with Belleville this season. He has no points in five career NHL games and he could make his season Dion Phaneuf not with the team because of a personal matter.

With Marc Methot and Fredrik Claesson both sidelined with injuries, Englund was recalled and will play on Saturday vs. Florida. Englund has picked up five points (1G / 4A) in 18 games with Binghamton (AHL) this season.

England, 20, was a second round pick (40th overall) in 2014 and this is his first NHL call-up. England has picked up one goal and four assists (five points) in 18 games in his first season with Binghamton. He could make his NHL debut on Saturday.
