The 24-year-old has been outstanding this season, especially at home, where he has gone 7-3-0 with a 2.30 GAA and .932 SV%.

Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 38 shots in the Lightning’s win in Vegas on Tuesday. Vasilevskiy was given Thursday night off but will be back in net tonight in Edmonton. Vasilevskiy was placed on IR on Thursday and sent to Tampa Bay to be re-evaluated. The original report of a fractured foot was confirmed and the Lightning’s No.1 netminder will miss at least one month. Louis Domingue is expected to take on a heavy workload until at least mid-December.

Vasilevskiy is out indefinitely with an injury that he suffered in Wednesday’s practice. Vasilevskiy has returned to Tampa Bay to be re-evaluated and the Lightning should provide a detailed timetable after that. Louis Domingue is expected to start on Thursday and could see a heavy workload while Vasilevskiy is out.

Vasilevskiy may have fractured his left foot according to TSN’s Darren Dreger. Although unconfirmed by the Lightning, a fractured left foot would keep Vasilevskiy sidelined for a lengthy period of time and Louis Domingue would have to step-up as the team’s No.1 netminder. The Lightning should provide an update later on Thursday.
