Sustr missed the final six games of the regular season but was in practice on Monday and he is hopeful that he will return to the lineup in Game 1. He skated as an extra this morning, which is not a good sign, but he has two more days to get ready.
Sustr will miss at least one week with an upper-body injury and could be out until the playoffs. There is no word when Sustr suffered the injury, but Luke Witkowski has been recalled from Syracuse (AHL) and will play tonight.
Sustr, 23, has seven assists in 38 games with the Lightning this season. After he was sent down Sustr picked up one goal and two assists in 12 games with Syracuse (AHL).
Sustr is 22-year-old Czech defenseman that is 6-foot-8 and 225 pounds. He scored 25 points in 39 games at the University of Nebraska-Omaha this year. He recently signed a two-year deal with the Lightning and could make his NHL debut tonight.
Sustr is more known for his size than his scoring ability but he may round into form and become a Chara-like player many years down the road. Sustr doesn't project to have any fantasy relevance this season.
