Andrew Ladd News

Ladd (undisclosed) will not play in the Islanders' opening game on Thursday.

The extent of Ladd's injury is unknown at this point but Isles' GM Lou Lamoriello said LTIR is not being considered at this point. Ladd has been skating as of late but remains without a timetable for his return. He had 12 goals and 17 assists in 73 games for the Islanders last season.

Ladd (upper-body) has been activated from IR and is expected to play Wednesday.

Ladd has missed the last nine games with and upper-body injury but it looks like he’ll be back tonight in Toronto. There’s no word on where Ladd will slot back into the lineup because of the emergence of Anthony Beauvillier during his absence. Ladd has nine goals and nine assists (18 points) in 42 games this season.

Ladd (undisclosed) will not play on Saturday.

Ladd will miss his second straight game with an undisclosed injury and the Islanders are unsure how long he will be out for. Head coach Doug Weight said they “have to figure everything out and hopefully [Ladd] is back sooner than later. That’ all I can tell you now.” It doesn’t sound like Ladd will be out long-term, but Anthony Beauvillier and Michael Dal Colle are up from Bridgeport (AHL) to take Ladd and Josh Bailey’s spots in the lineup.

Ladd (upper-body) will return to the Islanders’ lineup on Tuesday.

Ladd has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury, but will draw in for Anthony Beauvillier tonight. Ladd has had a tough debut season in Brooklyn—he comes into Tuesday with eight goals and four assists (12 points)in 41 games this season.

Andrew Ladd
The Islanders signed Andrew Ladd to a seven-year deal worth $38.5 million ($5.5M AAV).

After spending five and a half years with the Winnipeg Jets, he had a reunion with the Blackhawks after being acquired at the Trade Deadline, but he wasn’t enough to propel them to another Stanley Cup. He had 12 points (8G / 4A) in 19 games with Chicago and 25 goals, 21 assists (46 points) in 78 games overall. Ladd will fill the hole left by Kyle Okposo’s departure to Buffalo and should find himself playing alongside John Tavares in 2016-17.

Andrew Ladd
The Blackhawks have acquired Andrew Ladd, Jay Harrison and Matt Fraser from the Jets for Marko Dano, a 2016 1st round pick and a conditional draft pick.

Ladd, 30, was with the Blackhawks from 2008-2010, winning a Stanley Cup in 2010. He has spent the last five in a half seasons with the Jets, where he averaged 27 goals and 32 assists (59 points) per 82 games and had 34 points (17G / 17A) in 59 games this season. He will play on the Blackhawks’ top line with Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa (when he returns from injury).

Andrew Ladd
Ladd (elbow) is out for the rest of the regular season.

Ladd had a strong season, nearing his career-high with 54 points (23G / 31A). That falls five short of his career-high that he set with the Atlanta Thrashers (remember them?) in 2010-11. Ladd has been a good leader for this team and exemplifies exactly what head coach Paul Maurice is looking for out of his players. Should Maurice be back next season, look for Ladd to have a good year.
