Anisimov (tricep) will return to the Blue Jackets lineup on Thursday.

Anisimov has been out with a torn tricep since November 29th, but will slide back into the lineup tonight vs. the Panthers. He will centre the Blue Jackets’ third line between Alexander Wennberg and Josh Anderson. Prior to getting hurt, Anisimov had six points (2G / 4A) in 16 games.

Anisimov skated for the first time since suffering a torn tricep on November 29th in Nashville. The Blue Jackets are starting to get healthy, but he was originally expected to miss 2-3 months, so don’t expect him back for a couple of weeks at least.

Anisimov suffered the injury in Saturday’s loss to the Predators. Anisimov, who missed seven games earlier this season due to an upper body injury, has recorded two goals and four assists for six points with four penalty minutes in 16 games this season. He will be back in the lineup in late-January/early-February at the earliest.

Anisimov is expected to miss at least one week with a concussion.

Anisimov left Tuesday's game and did not return after being hit by Eric Gryba. Anisimov suffered a concussion on the play and Gryba could face supplementary discipline for the incident. Concussion are hard to predict, but as of right now, the Blue Jackets are hopeful he will miss just one week.

Anisimov may not play tonight because of the birth of his child.

Anisimov was not at the Blue Jackets morning skate because he is at the hospital with his wife waiting for the birth of their child. There is no official word on whether or not he will play tonight, but he is likely a game-time decision.

Anisimov should be good to go in Columbus' season opener on Friday. He is expected to start the season as the third line centre with Mark Letestu and Blake Comeau.
