Harpur was in the Senators lineup for the last four games, but he will be replaced by Thomas Chabot in the lineup tonight. Chabot brings a lot more offence to the table than Harpur and the Senators definitely could use a shot in the arm.
Harpur was a minus-1 with one blocked shot during two games during the Senators Global Series in Sweden. With Mark Borowiecki ready to return to the lineup on Thursday, Harpur returns to Belleville where he has no points and 13 PIMS in three games.
Harpur left the Senators game vs. Detroit with an upper-body injury and did not return. It was a tough season debut for the 22-year-old defenseman, who is expected to miss some time after the Senators recalled Thomas Chabot and Christian Jaros for their upcoming road-trip.
Harpur has been recalled because Johnny Oduya is dealing with a lower-body injury and Erik Karlsson’s status remains up in the air. The 22-year-old has just one assist in 11 career NHL games and is coming off of a season in which he had 27 points (2G / 25A) in 63 games with Binghamton (AHL).
Harpur appeared in one game during his call-up, but was a healthy scratch for the last two games, so he will return to the AHL, where he three assists in 20 games.
Harpur, 21, has registered just three assists in 20 games with Binghamton this season. The 6-foot-6, 214 lbs. defenseman appeared in five NHL games last year, collecting just one assist. He skated with Chris Wideman in Tuesday’s practice, so expect him to make his season debut on Wednesday.
Harpur, 21, has just one goal and four assists in 44 games with Binghamton. He has been recalled because Marc Methot may not be available for Tuesday’s game.
