Brock McGinn News
McGinn suffered an upper-body injury early in Sunday's game vs. the Stars and did not return. He was not available for Tuesday's morning skate and will not play vs. the Panthers. With McGinn out, Morgan Geekie will draw in on the fourth line.
McGinn was not on the ice for the Hurricanes' morning skate and will be a game-time decision vs. the Senators. McGinn doesn't bring a lot of offence to the table, collecting just four points (1G / 3A) in 17 games this season, so he shouldn't be considered for your rosters anyways.
McGinn has settled in as a bottom-6 winger in Carolina, picking up 26 points (10G / 16A) in 82 games in 2018-19. With proven top-9 players like Ryan Dzingel and Erik Haula coming in this summer, McGinn will continue to be limited to a fourth-line role in 2020.
McGinn will not play for the third time in four games because of an upper-body injury. Luckily for the Hurricanes, they’ll get Jeff Skinner (neck) back in the lineup, but McGinn remains day-to-day.
McGinn suffered an undisclosed injury in Friday’s win over the Senators and will not play on Sunday. With McGinn listed as day-to-day, expect Derek Ryan to draw into the lineup for McGinn.
McGinn had no points while averaging 13:15 TOI in two games during his call-up. He returns to the AHL, where he is third on the team in scoring with 28 points (14G / 14A) in 38 contests.
McGinn scored two goals with one assist in 12 games with the Hurricanes earlier in the season. While in the AHL, he has collected six goals and one assist in 10 games. He is expected to skate on the top line with Eric Staal and Elias Lindholm in Saturday’s game vs. the Canadiens.
McGinn had two goals, one assist and a minus-11 rating in 12 games with the Hurricanes. McGinn played just 7:41 last night, so he will be sent to Charlotte to play more regular minutes.
