Carey Price News

Price (lower-body) is on the ice taking shots this morning.

Price continues to work his way back from a lower-body injury that has cost him the last eight games. The Habs are struggling without their number-1 netminder and need him back in a big way. Price could be back between the pipes on Saturday, but we await an official word from the team.

Price (lower-body) is taking part in full Canadiens practice today.

Price has been skating on his own recently, but he has joined Peter Budaj, Dustin Tokarski and the rest of the Habs on the ice Tuesday morning. Price did not take shots in the first part of practice, but started to towards the end. Price is questionable for Wednesday, but this is still a great sign for the Canadiens and Price owners.

Price (lower-body) is not on the ice with the Habs this afternoon.

Price's absence from the morning skate is not good news for the Canadiens. When they acquired Devan Dubnyk at the trade deadline, it raised questions as to how serious Price's injury is. No practice today suggests that Price will miss his seventh straight game with the lower-body injury.

Price (lower-body) will skate today, but will not play Wednesday.

Price will miss his fifth straight game on Wednesday, but the fact that he is getting on the ice after his teammates today is a good sign in his recovery. He was placed on IR on Monday, but it was retroactive to Feb 27, which means he can return anytime after Thursday.

The Habs have placed Carey Price (lower-body) on injured reserve.

The move allows the Canadiens room to make a potential addition before Wednesday's trade deadline. It does not necessairly mean that Price's injury is any more serious than originally thought. His placement on IR gives Montreal flexibility. Monitor Price's status leading up to Wednesday's game in Montreal.

Price (lower-body) will not play in the Habs next two games.

Price re-injured himself during the Olympics, but still led Canada to the Gold medal. Peter Budaj was already scheduled to start tonight, but now Price will not travel to Pittsburgh for tomorrow's game. Dustin Tokarski has been recalled from Hamilton (AHL). At this point, there is no word whether Price will miss more than just two games.

Price was not nearly as busy as Kristers Gudlevskis in Canada's 2-1 win over Latvia on Wednesday. Price stopped 15 of 16 shots while Canada fired 57 at the young Latvian netminder. On Friday Price will face an American team who have tallied 19 goals in four games (4.75 G/PG). He will look to do what Roberto Luongo did to Team USA in 2010's Gold Medal game.

Price stopped 14 of 15 shots in a 2-1 OT win over Finland on Sunday. He has not seen a lot of rubber in Sochi thus far, but he has stopped 33 of the 35 (.943 SV%) shots that he has faced. He should be able to help Canada advance to the semis on Wednesday as they get set to take on the under-manned Latvian team.

Price stopped 34 of 36 shots in a 2-1 OT loss to the Lightning on Saturday. Price was excellent in defeat and will get both starts of the back-to-back set when the Habs take on the Jets this afternoon. Winnipeg has won seven of their last nine, but Price is still a good Sunday play.
