Charlie Lindgren will start Thursday in Columbus.

Lindgren will take over the Capitals’ crease for the first time in three games Thursday and look to extend Washington’s winning streak to three as they head to Columbus. The 30-year-old veteran has surprisingly been the better of the Capitals’ two goaltenders with his 6-3-2 record, 2.45 GAA and .925 SV%. He will head to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets, who are fresh off their highest scoring game of the season as they beat Buffalo 9-4 their last time out.

Lindgren will start in Philadelphia on Thursday.

Lindgren will start for the third time in the last four games for the Capitals and will look to build off his most recent performance, a 31-save shutout in a 4-0 victory over the New York Rangers, his second shutout in as many weeks. Lindgren has been a cornerstone and predominant reason why the Capitals are in playoff contention this season, boasting a tremendous 6-1-1 record and .936 SV% in his last nine appearances. The Capitals are slight +116 road underdogs against an equally surprising team, the Philadelphia Flyers, who have collected a point in six straight games (4-0-2).

Charlie Lindgren will start Thursday vs. Dallas.

Lindgren allowed three goals on 22 shots (.864 SV%) entering the game in relief of Darcy Kuemper in a 6-0 blowout loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Monday but will make his first start in four games for the Capitals on Thursday. Lindgren has easily been the more reliable of the two goaltenders this season for the Capitals, who leave their netminders very little room for error, ranking second-worst in the league offensively (2.27 GF / GP). The Capitals are +124 home underdogs against a Dallas Stars team that lost 5-4 to the hands of the Florida Panthers last night and have been outscored 9-4 over their last two games (0-2-0).

Charlie Lindgren will start Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Lindgren will start for the fourth time in the last six games and attempt to rebound after allowing five goals on 35 shots (.857 SV%) in a 5-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers in his last outing. His most recent performance aside, Lindgren has been terrific this season, outperforming his counterpart Darcy Kuemper with a 2.51 GAA and .926 SV% in six games (4-2-0). The Capitals rank second-worst in the league offensively (2.33 GF / GP), so there is very little room for error for Lindgren, who will be put to the test tonight against the league's strongest offensive team, the Los Angeles Kings (4.00 GF / GP).

Charlie Lindgren will start Friday vs. Edmonton.

Lindgren will start Friday afternoon against the Edmonton Oilers. This comes after Darcy Kuemper was victorious on Wednesday, a sign that Spencer Carbery and the Capitals coaching staff recognize Lindgren's strong play and could continue to favour him down the stretch if they believe he gives them the best chance at victory. Lindgren has been sensational this season, boasting a 2.01 GAA and .940 SV% through five games (4-1-0). That said, the Capitals are +131 home underdogs against an Oilers team that, despite their struggles, is always a team threatening an offensive outburst.

Charlie Lindgren
Charlie Lindgren will start Saturday vs. Columbus.

Lindgren will go for his fourth-straight win Saturday after a perfect performance in his previous start as he shut out the Vegas Golden Knights on 35 saves. The 29-year-old has taken over the Capitals' crease of late, due to his impressive 3-1-0 record, .947 SV%, and 1.76 GAA. He will look to keep the win streak going as he takes on Columbus on Saturday, who are in the midst of a dreadful seven-game losing streak.

Charlie Lindgren
Charlie Lindgren will start Tuesday vs. Vegas.

Darcy Kuemper (undisclosed) will make his return to the Capitals lineup on Tuesday after not dressing for their previous two games but will serve as the backup, likely to Lindgren, who has started two of their last four contests. Lindgren has been dynamite in those two starts, saving 58 of 61 shots (.951 SV%), leading the Capitals to victories in both. The Capitals have points in three of their last four games (3-0-1) but are +137 road underdogs against the top team in the NHL, the Vegas Golden Knights.

Lindgren will start in New Jersey on Friday.

Lindgren last played on November 4th, saving an impressive 34 of 35 shots in a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets and will start again on Friday against the New Jersey Devils. Partially due to injuries, Lindgren has been limited to only two appearances this season (1-1-0), posting a 2.51 GAA and .929 SV%. The Capitals and Lindgren will have their work cut out for them against a Devils team that ranks fourth-best in the league offensively (3.67 GF / GP) but will once again be without one of the league's best scorers, Jack Hughes.
