Chris Wagner News
Wagner, 24, was a fifth round pick of the Ducks in 2010 and was with the Ducks’ organization from 2012-16 before being claimed off of waivers by the Avalanche in October. He now returns to Anaheim, where he will head to Norfolk (AHL).
Wagner appeared in the last three games, but the Avalanche will give Mikhail Grigorenko a chance to play his former team tonight, so Wagner will be scratched.
Wagner has just three goals in 24 games with the Avalanche this season and tonight will be his first game since December 12th. With Wagner back in, Mikhail Grigorenko will be a healthy scratch.
Wagner failed to record a point in 11 games with the Ducks this season, but had two points (1G / 1A) in three contests with San Diego (AHL). Wagner will stay with the Avalanche and could make his Avs’ debut as soon as Tuesday.
Wagner, 24, has one goal and one assist in three games with San Diego this season. He failed to record a point in his only game with the Ducks this season. Wagner is expected to draw into the lineup for Chris Stewart tonight.
Wagner was injured early in Game 2 and it looks like he will be held out of tonight’s game in Winnipeg. With Wagner and Nate Thompson both sidelined, it looks like Tomas Fleischmann will centre the Ducks’ fourth line.
Wagner, 23, has no points in three games with the Ducks this season. While in Norfolk he has collected 28 points (15G / 13A) in 48 games.
Wagner was sent down yesterday to make himself eligible for the AHL playoffs if need be. He has been recalled but is expected to serve as a healthy scratch in tonight’s contest.
Wagner played 10:35 on Friday, the only action he saw during his recall. His return to the AHL makes room for Tomas Fleischmann as well as suggests that Nate Thompson should be back in the lineup tonight.
Wagner did not get into a game with the Ducks during his recall. He heads back to the AHL where he has 13 points (8G / 5A) in 14 games with Norfolk.
Wagner, 23, had two goals in the first two AHL games of the season. He is coming off of a season where he had 28 points (14G / 14A) in 76 games.
Wagner, 23, was the 122nd overall pick in the 2010 draft and has never played an NHL game. Wagner got off to a blistering pace in the AHL this season, scoring four goals in two games. There is no word if Wagner will make his NHL debut during the Ducks' home opener on Friday.
Wagner just finished his second season at Colgate University, scoring 17 goals and 51 points in 38 games.
