Kuemper appears set to start Thursday despite leaving Tuesday’s game vs. the Kings after taking a stick to the eye. The playoffs is likely a motivating factor for Kuemper to be between the pipes tonight at less than 100 percent. Kuemper was forced to leave Tuesday’s game after taking a stick to the eye and his availability is in question for Thursday’s game. Adin Hill was recalled from Tucson (AHL) in case Kuemper can’t play vs. the Golden Knights.
Kuemper stopped all 39 shots that he faced in Sunday’s shutout win over the Wild. Kuemper now has two shutouts in his last three starts and is 7-5-3 with a 1.73 GAA, .943 SV% and three shutouts in 15 starts since the start of March. Kuemper is 1-1-0 with a 2.05 GAA and .935 SV% in two starts vs. the Kings this season.
Kuemper was pulled after he allowed four goals in the Coyotes loss in Chicago last night. It was a rare rough outing for Kuemper, who has been mostly outstanding over the last month. Tonight he faces the Blues for the second time his season—he allowed four goals on 24 shots in a 4-0 loss in the first meeting (Feb.14).
Kuemper allowed two goals on 36 shots in the Coyotes win over the Kings on Saturday. Kuemper continues to play fantastic hockey, going 9-1-0 with a 1.58 GAA, .949 SV% and two shutouts in his last 10 starts. Tonight he faces a Blackhawks team that has gone 6-6-0 while averaging 3.67 GF/pg in their last 12 games.
Kuemper stopped all 30 shots that he faced in the Coyotes shutout win over the Flames on Thursday. Kuemper bounced right back after a loss to the Ducks on Tuesday, moving him to 8-1-0 with a 1.53 GAA, .949 SV% and two shutouts in his last nine starts. In his first start vs. the Kings, Kuemper allowed two goals on 26 shots in a 2-1 loss (Dec.27).
Kuemper allowed one goal on 23 shots in the Coyotes win over the Red Wings on Saturday. Kuemper extended his winning streak to seven games, posting a 1.53 GAA, .949 SV% and one shutout in the process. He should be able to continue his hot streak against a Ducks team that has gone 6-21-4 while averaging just 1.65 goals for per game since mid-December.
