Backes left Tuesday's game with an upper-body injury and did not return.

Backes suffered the injury in the first period when he collided with Stars' defenseman Trevor Daley in the offensive zone. Backes hit the ice hard and suffered what the Blues are calling an upper-body injury. St. Louis hosts Anaheim on Thursday, so expect an update on Wednesday or Thursday morning.

Good news for the Blues as it looks like Backes will return this series - potentially when Seabrook returns from his suspension - if the series ends up going 6 or 7 games.

A woozy Backes appeared to struggle with his equilibrium as he went straight to the locker room. Backes has missed only three games in the past six seasons, but he was listed as day-to-day after the game and the Blues are waiting to see if his absence will be extended.
