David Gustafsson News

This call-up has been on the radar for quite some time and the Jets recently waived Riley Nash to create room for the 21-year-old centre. Gustafsson was a second-round pick in 2018 and has scored seven goals with nine assists (16 points) in 23 AHL games this season. He should be a fixture in the Jets' bottom-6 moving forward.

Gustafsson was a healthy scratch for the last two games but will replace Jansen Harkins in the lineup on Thursday. Harkins is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Gustafsson has just one goal and no assists in 25 career NHL games.

Gustafsson was loaned to Team Sweden for the World Juniors, where he had one goal and three assists in seven and earned a bronze medal. He had one goal in 22 games with the Jets earlier in the year but will get his first taste of the AHL upon his return to North America.

Gustafsson, 19, was a second-round pick (No.60 overall) in 2018 and will replace Mark Letestu in the lineup on Tuesday. Gustafsson, who had 12 points (2G / 10A) in 36 games with HV71 Jonkoping of the Swedish Hockey League last year, will skate with Gabriel Bourque and Mason Appleton.

Gustafsson was picked in the second-round (No.60 overall) in 2018 and is coming off of his second season in the Swedish Elite League. Gustafsson had two goals and 10 assists (12 points) in 36 games with HV71 and also had three assists in five games while playing with Sweden at the U20 World Juniors.
