Krejci was a full participant at practice on Wednesday, which is a great sign for his availability for Thursday’s season opener. Monitor his status during tomorrow’s morning skate, but things are trending in the right direction for the veteran pivot.
David Krejci News
Krejci suffered a lower-body injury in last Monday’s preseason game but skated lightly on Saturday. It was a step in the right direction for the veteran centre and head coach Bruce Cassidy believes Krejci will be good to go for Opening Night (Thursday @ Dallas). Krejci is set to centre the Bruins second-line with Jake DeBrusk and Karson Kuhlman on his wings.
Krejci left Monday’s preseason game following a collision with Shayne Gostisbehere and did not return or practice on Tuesday. Head coach Bruce Cassidy said that he will be “re-evaluated on Wednesday” and added that they are going to “take [their] time with it.” With the Bruins season set to start in just over one week, Krejci’s status for the season-opener is in jeopardy.
The Bruins have clinched home-ice advantage in the first-round of the playoffs so they will sit four key players to give them some rest. Krejci will be joined by Zdeno Chara, Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy.
Krejci has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury but will return to the lineup tonight in Ottawa. Krejci has had trouble with injuries this season but has been efficient when he’s in the lineup, picking up 14 points (5G / 9A) in 18 games.
Krejci will miss third straight game with an upper-body injury and may not be back before the Christmas break. After tonight the Bruins last game before the break is Saturday vs. the Red Wings. Monitor Krejci’s status over the next couple of days.
Krejci missed Wednesday’s game with a back issue, but could return this afternoon in Philadelphia. Krejci has had nice numbers when healthy this season, picking up three goals and six assists (nine points) in 11 games.
Krejci recently returned to the Bruins lineup and lasted just five games before going back on the shelf. Krejci had two goals and one assist in those five contests, but the Bruins injury issues will continue as the head into Wednesday’s meeting with the high-powered Lightning.
Krejci has been out with a back injury since October 19th, but it looks like he may return during the Bruins’ California road-trip. Despite travelling to Anaheim with the team, Krejci remains questionable for Tuesday’s game.
Head coach Bruce Cassidy announced that Krejci will not play this week and they’ll update his status next Monday ahead of the Bruins West Coast road-trip.
Krejci will miss his fifth consecutive game with a back injury, but could return to the lineup come Saturday. With David Backes also out, the Bruins turn to a very inexperienced lineup on Thursday.
