Caggiula took a puck up high in Friday’s loss and it did enough damage to keep him out of tonight’s game in San Jose. Mike Cammalleri will likely replace him in the lineup.
Caggiula needed some repairs after taking a puck up high during Friday’s game in Anaheim. Head coach Todd McLellan called the winger questionable but expect him to be replaced by Mike Cammalleri if he can’t play.
Caggiula was a healthy scratch in Chicago on Sunday but will replace Yohann Auvitu on the Oilers fourth line tonight. Caggiula has just nine points (5G / 4A) in 31 games this season.
Caggiula will miss his third straight game with an undisclosed injury. The Oilers will re-evaluate Caggiula before deciding whether or not he will travel with the team on their upcoming road-trip.
There is no indication when Caggiula suffered the injury, but he was not on the ice for Sunday’s practice, so don’t expect him to play vs. the Jets. With Caggiula out, Zack Kassian will take his spot on the third line and Anton Slepyshev will draw into the lineup.
Caggiula has missed the first 18 games of the season because of a hip injury, but will draw into the lineup on Saturday. The 22-year-old forward is coming off of a season in which he collected 51 points (25G / 25A) in 39 games at the University of North Dakota.
