Kane took part in Wednesday’s practice but will not be available for the third consecutive game due to an upper-body injury that he suffered in Boston. Kane remains day-to-day and seems like he will be available for Saturday’s game vs. St. Louis.
Kane has missed the last two games with an undisclosed injury and remains questionable to play Thursday despite skating on Wednesday. Kane did skate with Tomas Hertl and Gustav Nyqust in practice, which suggests there’s a chance that he plays vs. the Canadiens.
Kane will miss his second straight game, but he says he will be ready to go for the playoffs. With a postseason berth already looked up, the Sharks can afford to play it safe with Kane.
Kane missed Monday’s practice and will not play tonight vs. the Stars. Kane has been strong since joining the Sharks, posting nine goals and five assists (14 points) in 16 games since the trade. Kane is considered day-to-day.
Kane brings size, speed and scoring to the Sharks, who are in need of top-6 goal scoring help. Kane has scored 20 goals and 20 assists (40 points) in 61 games this season. If he does not re-sign with the Sharks this season, the 1st round pick in 2019 becomes a 2nd round pick.
With a possible trade on the horizon the Sabres will make sure that Kane remains healthy, so he will sit tonight. There’s a good chance that Thursday’s game in Detroit was Kane’s last with the Sabres.
Kane was in the lineup after being a game-time decision on Thursday, so expect the same thing to happen this afternoon. He missed yesterday’s practice for rest reasons because he’s fighting an illness, but he should play vs. the Blues.
