Isac Lundestrom News

Lundstrom had four goals, 10 assists, 60 SOG, two PIMs and a -13 plus/minus through 61 games in 2022-23 and will now be forced to miss the next six months as he recovers from surgery for an Achilles injury sustained in Sweden. The 23-year-old centre is now expected to return around the turn of the new year and will be hoping to take a step forward after a down season in 2022-23. He currently has 26 goals and 58 points in 212 career NHL games.

Lundestrom missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but travelled to New Jersey and is expected to play Saturday. Lundestrom will likely replace Danny O'Regan in the lineup.

Lundestrom suffered a lower-body injury early in Sunday's game vs. the Sharks and will not play Tuesday in Chicago. The fact that he did not travel to start the road trip, suggests that Lundestrom will miss at least the next five games. The Ducks will likely go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen with Lundestrom out.

Lundestrom has appeared in 12 straight games with the Ducks but was sent back to the AHL to make room for the potential returns of Derek Grant and/or Nick Ritchie.

Lundestrom was this summer’s No.23 overall pick and started the year in Anaheim. The 19-year-old has just two assists in 15 games before being sent to San Diego (AHL) where he collected just six assists in 12 games. Lundestrom had two goals in seven games while representing Sweden at the World Juniors last year.
