Miller basically replaces Vladislav Namestnikov in the Lightning lineup, but may not see the first line ice-time that Namestnikov was playing. Miller brings a solid amount of offence to the table as well, having picked up 13 goals and 27 assists (40 points) in 63 games with the Rangers. He should play a very similar, middle-6 role with some PP time as he did in New York.

Miller had to get stitches on his knee after being hit by a Mats Zuccerello shot on Sunday. Rangers’ head coach Alain Vigneault said it is a 50/50 chance that Miller will be in the lineup on Tuesday. If he can’t play, Oscar Lindberg will get back into the lineup.
Miller missed Tuesday’s practice but was on the ice for the morning skate and will be in the lineup on Wednesday. Miller had one goal and seven shots after being moved into the top-6 because of Chris Kreider’s injury. He makes for a solid daily choice tonight vs. the Bruins.
Miller, 23, was the 15th overall pick in 2011 and his breakout season was long awaited. Miller finally broke through in 2015-16 after posting just 33 points (15G / 18A) in 114 games over his first three seasons. Miller scored 22 goals with 21 assists (43 points) last season and figures to take steps forward as a member of the Rangers’ top-6 in 2016-17.
With Derek Stepan sidelined with an upper-body injury, Miller skated between Chris Kreider and Martin St. Louis in Wednesday’s practice. Miller played well while Derick Brassard was out, so the move back into the top-6 should spark Miller’s production. He has four assists in his last five games.
With Derick Brassard out with mumps, Miller will be bumped up to the top-line to play with Rick Nash and Mats Zuccarello. Since being recalled, Miller has three goals and one assist in five games.
Miller has yet to record a point in three games with the Rangers but has 15 points (6G / 9A) in 18 games in Hartford. He will take Chris Kreider’s spot in the lineup today.
