Jake Muzzin News
Muzzin has missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury but he took a regular rotation at even strength and on the power-play in Wednesday’s practice, so look for him to play tomorrow. Muzzin has had a nice year, picking up 23 points (3G / 20A), 90 shots and 80 blocked shots in 41 games.
Muzzin was originally listed as questionable for tonight's game but after being placed on IR he certainly won't be in the lineup against the Predators. The Kings moved him to IR to make room for Christian Folin to be activated, so he will take Muzzin's spot in the lineup.
Muzzin missed the Kings morning skate and is listed as a game-time decision because he is “a little banged up.” Monitor Muzzin’s status as the Kings hit the ice for pre-game warmups at 10:00 p.m. ET.
Kings’ head coach Darryl Sutter called Muzzin “doubtful” on Monday, but on Tuesday he was upgraded to probable for Wednesday’s game vs. the Sharks. Monitor Muzzin’s status during the morning skate, but things are trending in the right direction.
Muzzin has been dealing with an upper-body injury throughout the preseason but returned to practice on Monday. Despite returning to the team session, coach Darryl Sutter called Muzzin “doubtful” for Wednesday’s game against the Sharks.
Muzzin said that he would be ready to go tonight and he was skating with Drew Doughty again this morning, so he will make his season debut against the Sabres---an early opportunity to produce.
This is great news for the Kings' and perfect timing following the indefinite suspension of Slava Voynov. Muzzin is the 'cross darling' and will be back on the top-pair with Drew Doughty and should be a rock solid fantasy defenseman this season.
Muzzin has yet to play this season, but is nearing a return. He said he will not rush back just because of Slava Voynov's arrest, but he still feels like he is ready to make his season debut on Thursday.
The Kings could really use Muzzin back after Slava Voynov was suspended indefinitely on Monday. The Kings don't play until Thursday, so there is a good chance that Muzzin will be ready to go.
Muzzin hasn’t played since suffering an injury in the preseason game against the Avalanche in Colorado Springs on October 2. Though he has been practicing with the team, he hasn’t been cleared to return to game action. Muzzin is expected to get an X-ray on October 23rd, which is three weeks from the day he was injured, a decision on his status should be made after that.
The Kings will pay Muzzin an average of $4 million per year, which is a very reasonable cap-hit for your number-2 defenseman. Muzzin has not played yet this season but is coming off of a 24-point (5G / 19A) year and is just 25-years-old. He has an absolute cannon from the point and that cannon will be on the Kings blueline for five more years.
Muzzin has yet to be medically cleared to play on Tuesday and he expressed doubt over his availability for tomorrow. It sounds like the most likely scenario is for Muzzin to return this weekend when the Kings take on the Stars on Saturday.
Muzzin said he feels like he is close to a return but has not yet been cleared to get back into the lineup. So expect Muzzin to miss his third straight game, but he should be back next week.
Muzzin has missed the first two games of the season, but could make his season debut tonight vs. the Jets. Expect a full update on Muzzin shortly.
Muzzin missed the season opener with what Darryl Sutter called a "frustrating injury". It was announced on Thursday that Muzzin would likely miss a few games, so consider him day-to-day.
Muzzin was on the ice for Kings practice this afternoon, but apparently the injury won't stop him from skating and he may even take warmups, but he will miss a couple more games. Muzzin's fill-in Brayden McNabb was a minus-1 with no shots in 23:27 TOI.
There was no report of an injury to Muzzin until this morning. If he plays he will line up in his usual spot with Drew Doughty, but if he is unable to play, Doughty will play with Brayden McNabb. With only a few games tonight you won't get burned by having him in your lineup in daily leagues.
Muzzin who was scratched in Game 2 will return to the blueline for Game 3. He has three assists and is a minus-2 in 14 games this post-season. He is averaging the fifth most time on ice of all the Kings defenseman with 15:43 per game.
