Silfverberg, a Swedish winger acquired from Ottawa in the Bobby Ryan trade, acknowledged that it’s an honor to skate with a living legend. Playing with Selanne should certainly help Silfverberg's development this season, he has the potential for a breakout season.
Silfverberg netted 10 goals and added nine assists in 48 games in his first full NHL season. The 39th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft appears to be an NHL-ready forward who will have a chance to learn from Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.
Silfverberg had 29 points in 34 games and a +2 with the Binghamton Senators during the lockout. It looks as if he'll start the season with Spezza and Michalek which increases his fantasy value and could end up being a good producer of goals and assists.
Silfverberg opens the season as a great sleeper rounding out the Spezza line. While he did nothing in his two game playoff stint last season, Silfverberg has drawn comparisons to an early Alfredsson.
