Voracek appeared on-track to return to the lineup vs. the Red Wings tomorrow, but he missed Monday’s practice and will be held out of the lineup for an eighth straight game. Tuesday is the first of a back-to-back, so it seems unlikely that he’ll return vs. the Blackhawks.

Voracek suffered the injury on February 25th and will miss roughly two weeks. He was reportedly spotted wearing a boot, so the “lower-body” injury is expected to be foot or ankle related. With Voracek out, Sam Gagner is expected to skate in the top-six.

He has nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in his last 19 games. “We’re not sure yet,” coach Craig Berube said. “It’s a loss for sure. He’s a good player and one of our better players. So it’s going to be a loss if he’s out. That happens. People have to step up and play.”

Voracek who finished tied for eighth in the NHL with a team-high 22 goals last season, is expected to start on the Flyers top line with Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell.

“It’s not serious,” general manager Paul Holmgren said. “I don’t think he was going to play on Thursday anyway.” It sounds like Voracek is going to be fine for the Flyers season opener on October 2nd.

He played 10:27 in the contest and had an awful penalty shot attempt before leaving the game. Expect an update on Voracek's status tomorrow.
