Reimer is the Maple Leafs probable starter.

Jonathan Bernier did not take part in the optional morning skate, which suggests he won’t be available so Reimer should start his second game in as many nights. He allowed five goals on 32 shots in the Leafs 6-4 loss to the Panthers last night. He has allowed nine goals on 67 shots (.866 SV%) in his last two starts. He draws an awful matchup tonight in Tampa Bay.

Remier skated on Saturday morning so his tweaked groin is good-to-go today vs. the Kings. He had a stellar outing on Wednesday, stopping 41 of 42 shots in the 2-1 shootout win over the Red Wings. Today it looks like he will be the one to take on the Kings, a team who are 1-2-0 on their current road-trip.

Reimer (groin) says he could start Sunday if he is called upon.

The belief is that the Maple Leafs planned to start Reimer tonight and Jonathan Bernier tomorrow vs. his former team, but after Reimer tweaked his groin in practice on Thursday, it will be Bernier tonight and could be Reimer tomorrow. There will be no morning skate tomorrow, so the Leafs starter will not be revealed until warmups at 4:30 PM ET.

James Reimer
Reimer left practice on Friday with a sore groin.

Reimer appeared to be in-line to make a second straight start on Saturday vs. the Red Wings, but he tweaked his groin in practice this morning. Coach Carlyle hopes the goalies can split the back-to-back, but it will all depend on Reimer’s health. Monitor his status during Saturday’s morning skate.
