James Reimer takes the crease for the third time this season as the winless Sharks (0-4-0) head to Brooklyn to take on the Islanders. Although the 13-year-veteran is without a win, he has stood on his head in the early part of the season, keeping the Sharks in every contest with a 2.56 GAA and .924 SV%.He has had little help as the Sharks have yet to score more than two goals in any of their contests. He will hope to endless the losing streak tonight on the road.

Reimer will take the net for his second start of the 2022-23 season and first start on North American soil. The 34-year-old played well in the Shark's opener a week ago, stopping 28 of 31 shots while getting minimal offensive support. He and the Sharks will be hoping to enter the win column for the first time this season but have the daunting task of doing so against the powerhouse that is the Hurricanes.
The 34-year-old veteran netminder will take the crease for the Sharks' first game of the 2022-23 regular season in Prague, Czech Republic. Reimer enjoyed a solid 2021-22, posting 19 wins alongside a .911 SV% while starting a career-high 46 games. He will be looking to get things going on the right foot as he enters his 13th NHL season.
Reimer left Thursday's game with an upper-body injury after a collision with Logan Couture. Post-game, head coach Bob Boughner said that he thinks Reimer "might be OK" but that they were still doing tests. It sounds like Reimer won't be available to start Saturday, so look for Kaapo Kahkonen to get the nod and the Sharks may need to recall a goalie to serve as his backup.
Reimer was forced to leave Tuesday's game in Vegas with a lower-body injury and is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks. With Adin Hill also sidelined, the Sharks acquired Alex Stalock from the Oilers. Either Stalock or Zach Sawchenko should start Saturday vs. the Predators and then see where it goes from there.
