Pageau was added to the COVID-19 protocol list prior to Sunday's game but was activated on Monday and will play Tuesday vs. Washington. Pageau, who has nine goals and eight assists (17 points) in 28 games this season, will be back in his usual spot on the third line.
The 2020 first-round pick is top-three protected, and the 2022 third-rounder is conditional on the Islanders winning the Stanley Cup this season. In 44 AHL games this season, Pageau has recorded 17 goals and 24 assists for 41 points. He could get into the lineup tonight vs. Carolina because Colin Greening is battling an undisclosed injury.
Pageau has recorded two goals in 21 games for the Senators this season. His return to the minors suggests that Chris Neil is ready to return to the lineup after missing the last five games.
