Franzen left Friday night's contest with the Flames with an illness and will not play tonight vs. Edmonton. Mikael Samuelsson or Jordin Tootoo will enter the lineup in Franzen's absence.

Franzen (hip flexor) hasn't played since February 10th, will be a welcomed addition to a depleted Red Wings roster. Franzen has nine points in 12 games this season and should continue to be a solid fantasy contributer.
Franzen has missed the Red Wings last seven games with a hip flexor injury but should return on the Red Wings two game California trip. The Wings have battled the injury-bug all season and the return of Franzen would certainly help the likes of Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Brunner who have been carrying the team offensively.
