Johnny Gaudreau News
Gaudreau missed the morning skate and was listed as a game-time decision. Taking warmups is a good sign that Gaudreau will be in the lineup. If he plays, Brian McGrattan will be a healthy scratch and Lance Bouma will move to the fourth line.
Gaudreau has been on fire lately, posting two goals and six assists in seven games since being a healthy scratch on October 17th. Expect Brian McGrattan to slide into the lineup if Gaudreau can't go.
Gaudreau served as a healthy scratch in the Flames loss to the Blue Jackets on Friday. 'Johnny Hockey' has yet to record a point in five games this season. Josh Jooris will come out of the lineup to make room for Gaudreau.
Gaudreau has no points but a plus-2 rating with just one shot on goal in the first five games of the season. 'Johnny Hockey' has seen his minutes drop in each contest since playing 16:04 in the season opener. Don't expect Gaudreau to sit too long.
Gaudreau, who signed with the Flames earlier in the week, was the 2014 Hobey Baker Award winner. The fourth-round pick (104th overall) in 2011 scored 36 goals with 44 assists (80 points) in 40 games with Boston College this season. The under-sized, 20-year-old forward is expected to have his BC linemate Bill Arnold on his line in Vancouver tonight.
