Woll (ankle) has been reassigned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL) on a conditioning stint.

Woll has not played since December 7th due to an ankle injury and, after participating in practice the last two weeks, will join the Marlies (AHL) for a conditioning stint. When the 25-year-old returns to the lineup, he will be looking to build off his strong start to the season and add to his 8-5-1 record, 2.80 GAA, and .916 SV%.

Woll (ankle) is expected to join practice but will not play this week.

Woll has not played since December 7th due to an ankle injury but has great news on Monday as he is expected to rejoin the Maple Leafs practice. The 25-year-old will not be able to return yet this week but is taking a massive step forward in his recovery by returning to the ice. He will be looking to build off his strong start to the season when he does return and add on to his 8-5-1 record, 2.80 GAA, and .916 SV%.

Joseph Woll
Woll left Thursday's game in Ottawa with an apparent lower-body injury and did not return.

Woll stayed down after what appeared to be a non-contact injury and had trouble putting weight on his left leg as he exited the ice. Martin Jones entered the game in relief and saw the Maple Leafs through to a 4-3 victory over the Senators. We can expect to receive an update on the status of Woll in the coming days.

Joseph Woll
Joseph Woll will start Thursday in Ottawa.

Woll will make his fifth consecutive start after dropping his previous contest in a heartbreaking late overtime defeat to Boston where he stopped 33 of 37 shots (.892 SV%). The 25-year-old is having an impressive breakout season in Toronto, with his 8-5-1 record, .915 SV%, and 2.82 GAA. He heads to Ottawa to take on the Senators, who have won two straight games and are sixth in the NHL in goals per game (3.45).

Joseph Woll
Joseph Woll will start his third-straight contest Thursday vs. Seattle.

Woll has been stellar lately and, as such, will be rewarded with his third consecutive start. Woll has allowed three or fewer goals in his last three games (2-1-0), all quality starts, posting a terrific .936 SV% in the process. Consistency has been Woll's only downfall this season but the rookie goaltender will get the opportunity to string together his fourth-straight quality start as the Maple Leafs are -176 home favourites on Thursday against a Seattle Kraken team that ranks 26th in the league offensively (2.78 GF / GP) and will be without Jaden Schwartz (upper-body).

Woll will start against the Panthers on Tuesday.

Woll was unable to secure a victory for the Maple Leafs on Saturday but played well, saving 32 of 35 shots (.914 SV%) in a 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins and will start again on Tuesday against the Florida Panthers. Woll has been inconsistent, posting a .500 record over his past six games (3-3-0) and a subpar .884 SV%. However, he has back-to-back quality starts and will be looking for revenge in his first matchup against the Panthers since losing to them in the second round of the playoffs. The Panthers played in Ottawa last night, a 5-0 victory, which partially contributes to the Maple Leafs being -133 home favourites.

Joseph Woll will start Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Woll allowed three goals on 36 shots in the Maple Leafs' win in Minnesota last Sunday. Woll has had a tough time recently, allowing at least three goals in five of his last six games, while posting an .873 SV%. Tonight he'll face a Penguins team that is 1-for-22 (4.5%) on the power-play in their last nine games. Toronto are -120 road favourites.

Joseph Woll
Joseph Woll will start Friday vs. Calgary.

Woll has allowed 16 goals on the last 113 shots he has faced (.858 SV%) and will attempt to return to his early-season form on Friday when he takes on a Calgary Flames team that ranks 25th in the league offensively (2.67 GF / GP). In his first four games of the season (3-1-0), Woll was nearly impenetrable, saving 122 of 127 shots (.961 SV%), gaining the favour of the coaching staff in Toronto. The Maple Leafs have gone back to mostly rotating between goaltenders now as the team hopes one of them can emerge as a bonafide starter.

Joseph Woll
Woll will start against the Senators on Wednesday.

Woll will return to the crease for the Maple Leafs after starting the team's previous matchup backing up Ilya Samsonov but eventually entering the net in relief and making 18 of 19 saves in an eventual 6-5 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Before his strong relief effort on Tuesday, Woll allowed nine goals on 67 shots (.866 SV%) in his previous two games (0-2-0), a blemish on an otherwise impervious season thus far. The Maple Leafs are -156 home favourites against an Ottawa Senators team that has lost five of their last six (1-5-0).

Joseph Woll will start Saturday vs. Buffalo.

The Maple Leafs' goalie carousel continues Saturday as Joseph Woll takes the crease Saturday vs. Buffalo after allowing four goals on 27 shots (.852 SV%) in a loss in his previous start. The 25-year-old has demanded more starter's time due to his incredible start to 2023-24, with his 3-2-0 record, .942 SV% and 1.89 GAA. He will look to get back in the win column vs. Buffalo, who has struggled offensively this season, ranking 29th in shots on goals per game (27.9) and 18th in goals per game (3.0).

Joseph Woll will start Tuesday vs. Los Angeles.

Woll is the confirmed starter for the Maple Leafs on Tuesday when they host the Los Angeles Kings. Woll has appeared in three of the last four games for the Maple Leafs, posting a 3-0-0 record along with a dazzling .979 SV%. Woll's play has been remarkable to start the season as he is doing everything in his ability to solidify himself as the go-to guy between the pipes for the Maple Leafs. He has given them a chance to win every night but will have his ability put to the ultimate test on Tuesday against the Kings' league-best offence (4.38 GF / GP).

Joseph Woll
Woll will start in Dallas on Thursday.

Woll is on his way to cementing himself as the go-to guy between the pipes for the Maple Leafs as he is likely to start for the second straight game. This season, Woll has given the Maple Leafs a chance to win each night, boasting a 1.44 GAA and .957 SV% through three contests (2-1-0). Ilya Samsonov, who entered the season as the Maple Leafs' likely starter, has struggled immensely, posting an ugly 4.34 GAA and .831 SV% in four games (2-1-0). The Maple Leafs are slight -101 road underdogs against an undefeated Dallas Stars team (4-0-1).
