Lehtonen missed the last five games with a lower-body injury. In his first three starts this season he went 2-1-0 with a 1.57 GAA and .953 SV%. He has a decent matchup vs. the Flames tonight.
Lehtonen has missed the last five games after being placed on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 11 when he suffered a lower body injury. In three games this season, he has posted a 2-1-0 record and is tied for second in the League with a .953 save percentage and fourth with a 1.57 goals against average.
We will wait until closer to Thursday to be sure, but it sounds like Lehtonen will return from the lower-body injury that has kept him out of the last five games.
Lehtonen has missed five games with a lower body injury. He is still listed as day to day with no firm return, but the target is probably Thursday. “He’s probably 94 or 95 percent, so do you want to take that chance?” goalie coach Mike Valley said. “If you wait, then you can get him back at 100 percent.”
This is Lehtonen's first full practice since suffering the injury, he could start one of the Stars games this weekend. They play the Kings on Saturday and the Ducks on Sunday.
There is no timetable for Lehtonen's return, but Dan Ellis and Jack Campbell will take over in the Stars crease in the meantime.
Dan Ellis came on in relief and played the final 25:17, stopping 22 of 23 shots in his first game of the season for the Stars. Lehtonen has had a difficult time staying healthy in his NHL career, so this comes as no surprise. A further update on his status will likely come over the weekend.
The Stars had five days off between their last game and today, so Lehtonen should be well rested. In his last start he allowed just one goal on 26 shots in a 2-1 win over the Capitals. He will face a Jets team playing in the second game of a back-to-back and who have lost two straight.
Lehtonen played well in the season opener vs. Florida. He stopped 35 of 38 shots but the Stars offense was shutdown, a problem they will look to fix tonight against the Capitals. This game has the makings of a shootout. Washington has scored nine goals in their first two games, but have also allowed 10. Lehtonen might get some offense in front of him tonight, but should be under siege most of the night.
In his fourth year in Dallas, Lehtonen went 15-14-3 with a 2.66 GAA and .916 SV%. Those numbers were disappointing after a 2.33//.921 in 2011-12. In his fifth season in Dallas, the team has a fresh new look and will lean on him to win a lot of games for them. He is a high-end number-2 fantasy option to start the season.
Lehtonen has won just one of his last four starts since coming back from a minor injury that forced him to miss three games. He faces a hungry Blue Jackets team that used to make goalies must-starts, but Bobrovsky has changed that. Lehtonen could pull out a win in this one, but are you willing to take that risk?
Lehtonen allowed four goals on 36 shots on April 7th in an overtime win vs. the Sharks. He'll make his second start tonight vs. San Jose who have won three of their last four and look to clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight.
Lehtonen gave up just 1 goal on 38 shots Thursday in his first game back from injury.
Lehtonen returns after missing time due to a groin injury.
This means Lehtonen will be dressing for the Stars next game and could provide a boost to fantasy owners, although Bachman is playing well.
We'll have to wait for confirmation from Dallas but it looks like Lehtonen has a chance to play.
Lehtonen will not start or back-up tonight because of a groin injury he suffered on Tuesday.
