MacDermid left the Avalanche's previous game after 3:49 TOI due to a concussion after fighting Milan Lucic and will now miss Monday's game vs. Vegas as he remains in concussion protocol. The 28-year-old bruiser has four assists, 14 SOG, 49 PIMs and was a -2 plus/minus prior to the injury.
MacDermid has been out since Nov. 12th due to a lower-body injury but will return to Colorado's lineup Monday. Prior to the injury, the bruising defensemen had one assist, 14 PIMs and just three SOG through eight games played.
MacDermid had to leave the Avalanche's game Saturday vs. Carolina after just two shifts and 1:13 TOI due to a lower-body injury and will now miss anywhere from 4-6 weeks it was announced Monday. The bruising defenseman had one assist and 14 PIMs through eight games so far this season prior to going down with the injury.
MacDermid is a rugged defenseman, who can also suit up at forward for the Avalanche in a pinch. He provides almost nothing offensively, posting just 22 points (8G / 14A) in 171 career NHL games, but brings toughness and flexibility to the Avalanche lineup.
With Samuel Girard out with a lower-body injury, MacDermid willl play on defence on Thursday. MacDermid has just three points (1G / 2A) in 42 games this season, averaging just 7:07 TOI/gm.
MacDermid played in three straight games but will come out of the lineup on Saturday afternoon. Ryan Murray will draw into the lineup to replace him.
MacDermid, who has played 123 career games on the blueline, will move to forward on Wednesday. The 6-foot-5, 233 lbs. bruiser will replace Kieffer Sherwood and skate on Colorado's fourth line.
MacDermid has been in the lineup for the last two games, playing just 7:29 ATOI and going minus-1 with one shot. He'll be replaced by Samuel Girard, who is returning from an upper-body injury.
MacDermid had two goals, two assists, 46 hits and 35 blocked shots in 28 games with the Kings. MacDermid was selected by Seattle in the Expansion Draft but will go to Colorado for the 2021-22 season. Given the Avalanche's depth on defence, MacDermid will likely serve as a reserve.
MacDermid was set to become an RFA this offseason but signed an extension that takes him through the 2022 season. MacDermid set career-highs in games played (45), goals (3), assists (5) and points (8) in his third season with the Kings.
MacDermid played in the last two games but will be replaced by Paul LaDue in the lineup on Saturday.
MacDermid has been in the Kings lineup for the last nine games, but failed to record a point while posting a minus-7 rating. Overall he had just one goal and three assists in 34 games with the Kings, so he will head to Ontario to get some seasoning.
