Brossoit had a sensational NHL debut, stopping 49 of 51 shots in the Oilers 2-1 loss to the Sharks last night. Brossoit will head back to the AHL where he will resume his spot as the Barons starting net minder.
Brossoit, 22, had a tough time in a brief AHL stint last season, but came into 2014-15 much stronger. He went 22-21-4 with a 2.65 GAA and .916 SV% in 49 games with Oklahoma City, which prompted the Oilers to recall him and let him make his NHL debut in a meaningless game against the Sharks.
Brossoit, 22, has gone 22-21-4 with a 2.65 GAA and .916 SV% in 49 games with the Oklahoma City Barons this season. The 2011 sixth-round pick ( 164th overall) has enjoyed some success in his first full AHL season and will make his NHL debut on Thursday.
Brossoit was 37-8-7 as a member of the Edmonton Oil Kings in the WHL.
