Matt Cullen News
Cullen has missed the last 11 games with a lower-body injury but could return Wednesday in Chicago. There was no indication on who Cullen would replace if he does play but it will likely be Derek Grant or Garrett Wilson.

Cullen was not on the ice for Monday’s morning skate and head coach Mike Sullivan announced that he will be out long-term. With Cullen out, Riley Sheahan will draw back into the lineup on Monday.

Cullen was scratched on the tail-end of a back-to-back on Saturday but will get back into the lineup tonight in St. Louis. The scratching on Saturday was likely nothing more than giving a 41-year-old the night off to rest. Cullen has 11 points (4G / 7A) in 50 games this season.

Cullen took a shot off the foot during the Penguins’ 8-7 overtime win over the Capitals last night and will miss at least three weeks. With Cullen out, look for Eric Fehr to be back in the Penguins’ lineup on Wednesday.

Cullen, 39, appeared in all 82 games with the Penguins last season, scoring 16 goals with 16 assists (32 points). He also registered six points (4G / 2A) in 24 playoff games en route to winning the Stanley Cup. He will once again be a part of the Penguins bottom-6 in 2016-17.

Cullen has missed the last four games and will miss his fifth consecutive game tonight vs. the Canucks. Despite not playing tonight, his participation in the morning skate is a good sign that he will be available for Saturday.

Cullen has missed the last six games with an upper-body injury but will be back in the lineup on Saturday vs. the Wild. Expect him to start on the wing on the third line with Calle Jarnkrok in the middle and Olli Jokinen on the other flank.

Cullen will make his season debut tonight in Edmonton and he will start the game on the second line with Derek Roy and Craig Smith. Cullen had 10 goals and 29 assists (39 points) in 77 games a season ago. With Cullen in, Calle Jarnkrok will serve as a healthy scratch.

Activating Cullen will make him available for the team’s upcoming road trip that begins Wednesday night in Edmonton. Cullen skated on a regular forward line at Monday’s practice, setting him up for his first game action since suffering an upper-body injury September 24 during a preseason game against Tampa Bay.

There is no timetable on Cullen's return, but the veteran centre had fallen in the Predators' depth-chart after they added a number of centres via free agency. Expect a more detailed update to come in the next few days.

Cullen has missed the last four games, but the Preds have been off since Saturday, ginning Cullen ample time to heal. Through 53 games this season, the 37-year-old playmaking centre has five goals and 17 assists.

Cullen will miss his third straight game with an upper-body injury. He has 22 points (5G / 17A) in 53 games this season.

Cullen missed Sunday's game with an upper-body injury, but could return tonight vs. the Jets. If Cullen can't go, Colton Sissons is expected to make his NHL debut.

Cullen had seven goals and 20 assists in 42 games with the Wild last season. He is a solid play-making center having recorded at least 20 assists every season since 2005-06.
