Duchene was forced to leave Thursday's game vs. the Wild with a lower-body injury and did not return. However, he was on the ice for the Predators morning skate and is expected to play in Tampa Bay. Duchene has 11 points (2G / 9A) in 10 games this season.
Duchene is expected to walk across the hall and make his Blue Jackets debut tonight in Ottawa. It remains to be seen where Duchene will slot into the lineup, but the second line seems like the most reasonable spot. Despite playing for a mostly poor Senators team, Duchene is on-pace to set a new career-high in goals (39) and points (84). The 2019 first-round pick is lottery protected and the Senators will only receive the 2020 pick if Duchene re-signs in Columbus.
Duchene missed the last three games to be with his wife for the birth of their baby but is ready to play Wednesday vs. his former team. Duchene is expected to skate with Bobby Ryan and Ryan Dzingel and enters play with 18 goals and 24 assists (42 points) in 37 games.
Duchene and his wife are awaiting the arrival of their first child, so Duchene stayed home and is expected to miss all three games on their California road trip. Darren Archibald was called up to serve as the extra forward with Duchene out.
Duchene has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury but will play Friday vs. the Devils. Duchene has had an outstanding season to date, picking up 12 goals and 22 assists (34 points) in 29 games before getting injured.

Duchene was forced to leave Thursday’s game with a groin injury and was placed on IR on Friday. Senators GM Pierre Dorion announced that Duchene will miss multiple weeks, which will force both Colin White and Chris Tierney into bigger roles.
The Senators have yet to provide a detailed injury report on Duchene, who was hurt in Thursday’s game against Montreal. His move to IR means that he will miss at least one week, so the Senators recalled Nick Paul from Belleville (AHL) to replace him on the active roster.
Duchene was listed as questionable on Monday and remains that way as he tries to get over the flu. Duchene missed the morning skate, which isn’t a good sign for his availability but the Senators will see how the afternoon goes. If he can’t play, look for Mark Borowiecki (concussion) to replace him as a seventh defenseman.
