Willman has been recalled form Lehigh Valley after posting two goals and two assists in his first 11 games along with 10 PIMs. The 27-year-old center has previously played 41 games in the NHL posting four goals and six points alongside a -13 plus/minus rating.
Willman played in 13 consecutive games, failing to register a point. On Saturday he will be scratched to make room for Joel Farabee, who returns from an upper-body injury.
Willman entered COVID-19 protocol alongside a staff member and will not be available for Saturday's game. Luckily for the Flyers, they will get Joel Farabee back from injury to replace Willman.
Returning Willman to the AHL suggests that Derick Brassard could be back on Friday. Willman did not have a point in six games with the Flyers and has seven goals and two assists (nine points) in 12 AHL games.
Willman was a fifth-round pick of the Sabres in 2014 and signed with the Flyers in March. The 26-year-old spent last season with Lehigh Valley (AHL), where he had 16 points (9G / 7A) in 30 games. Willman will make his debut on the fourth line with Nate Thompson and Nicolas Aube-Kubel.
