Koskinen will start Saturday in Calgary.

Koskinen allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Oilers win over the Canadiens on Tuesday. Koskinen continues to outplay Cam Talbot this season and comes into the weekend at 4-1-0 with a 2.52 GAA, .918 SV% and one shutout in five starts and one relief appearance. He has been worse on the road, but the Flames are just 4-3-1 on home-ice.

Koskinen stopped 12 of 13 shots after replacing Cam Talbot in the Oilers loss to the Avalanche on Sunday. With Talbot continuing to struggle, Koskinen will get a look tonight vs. the Canadiens. Koskinen has gone 3-1-0 with a 2.63 GAA , .915 SV% and one shutout to start his Oilers career.

Koskinen allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Oilers win in Detroit on Saturday. Koskinen has been impressive and could carve out a larger role if he continues to play well. So far, he is 3-0-0 with a 2.02 GAA, .935 SV% and one shutout in his first three starts with Edmonton.

Koskinen gave up three goals on 27 shots in the Oilers 5-3 win in Nashville on Saturday. It was an impressive return to the NHL for Koskinen, who struggled mightily in the preseason. With Cam Talbot dropping Tuesday’s game vs. Minnesota, Koskinen will start for the second time in four games.

Koskinen will make his first NHL start since February 13, 2011. The 30-year-old netminder played very well in the KHL, going 22-4-1 with a 1.57 GAA and .937 SV% last season but struggled in the preseason. In three games he was 1-1-0 while allowing a combined 10 goals on 69 shots (.855 SV%) and will be in tough in his Oilers debut. He has a career 4.33 GAA and .873 SV% as a young NHLer and isn't a good option in Nashville.
