Koskinen allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Oilers loss in Carolina last night. Koskinen has gone 0-4-1 with a 3.80 GAA and .871 SV% in his last six appearances. He hasn’t played well behind a team that is struggling but is a decent option tonight. The Islanders are racking up wins but they rarely score goals.

Koskinen has not registered a win since January 16th, going 0-4-1 with a 3.80 GAA and .871 SV% in six appearances since then. Koskinen replaced Cam Talbot in a 7-4 loss in their first game vs. Carolina—he allowed three goals on 18 shots.

He draws a solid matchup on Tuesday vs. the Red Wings, who have lost 11 of their last 14 (3-9-2).

It is a bit alarming to sign a goalie to that kind of money in the middle of a very difficult stretch but in Koskinen’s defence, he doesn’t have a great blue line in front of him.
Koskinen was outstanding on Monday, stopping 41 of 43 shots in a 7-2 win over the Sabres. Koskinen was able to put an ugly stretch of games behind him and will look to stay on-track tonight vs. the Canucks. It looks like a nice matchup on paper but Koskinen is 0-2-0 with a 5.37 GAA and .800 SV% in two games vs. Vancouver this season.
