The Canucks have acquired Nick Bonino, Luca Sbisa, the 24th overall pick and the 85th overall pick in this year's draft from the Ducks for Ryan Kesler and 2015 third-round pick.

Bonino had the best season of his young career in 2013-14. He scored 22 goals with 27 assists (49 points) which shattered his previous career-high of 18 points (2011-12). Bonino should head to Vancouver and slide into the second-line centre role that was just opened by dealing Ryan Kesler.

Bonino practiced Saturday but remains questionable to return for the Ducks' game Sunday against Florida due to his bruised right foot.

Bonino blocked a shot late in the third period Tuesday night against Washington and could not play Thursday in San Jose. He said the foot is "a lot better than it has the last coupe of days." Monitor his status in the coming hours.

Bonino (upper-body) is expected to be available for the Ducks tonight.

Bonino missed the last four games with an upper-body injury, but should be back in the lineup tonight. There is no official word on his status, but he has been on the ice with the Ducks as they prepare for their first game back from the Olympic break tonight vs. St. Louis. Bonino has been great this season, recording 16 goals and 24 assists (40 points) in 56 games.

Bonino (upper-body) will travel to the team to Nashville, but his status for tomorrow's game remains uncertain.

Bonino will have to have a good morning skate in order to play tomorrow night in Nashville. He has missed the last three games, but is having a wonderful season having tallied 16 goals and 24 assists (40 points) in 56 games. However with the Olympic break starting on Sunday, they could play it safe and keep Bonino out.

Nick Bonino
Bonino (upper-body) is not on the ice for Ducks' practice.

Bonino departed Thursday's game and did not return because of an upper-body injury. Bonino played just 4:11 before retiring to the dressing room for the evening. He is listed as day-to-day and is expected to play before the Olympic break.

The Ducks have signed center Nick Bonino to a three-year contract extension through the 2016-17 season.

Bonino is having a breakout season with the Ducks with 16 points in all 27 games. While not a steady fantasy contributor, Bonino can be a good asset moving forward for very deep leagues.
